International Literacy Day – Read Across Jamaica

This activity began in 2012 as a Read Across Jamaica Day activity but has since evolved to commemorate International Literacy Day in September. Members of The SJF and its partners, including Missions of Spanish-speaking countries, go into primary schools across the island and read to hundreds of children in Spanish. This activity is always well-received. As is customary, books remain at the schools for further use.
