Projects

Fostering partnerships between both countries, through projects and initiatives of educational, cultural and social character.

Each year, the Foundation assists students across the island. Students of the Montego Bay and Brown’s Town Community Colleges are given partial scholarships to assist with the payment of their school fees while students of the HEART College of Hospitality Services are provided with funds to purchase tools and equipment necessary for their course of study.

Spanish students from the University of the West Indies, and pre-service Spanish teachers from Shortwood, Church and Sam Sharpe Teachers’ Colleges receive bursaries towards the payment of their tuition expenses. 2020 marked the beginning of benefits to students of Bethlehem Moravian College.

Recipients are selected through an interview process. Despite the numerous challenges faced, all students manage to remain focused on their career goals and to maintain excellent GPAs. They are also actively involved in school and community-based service organisations.
