Cervantes and Don Quixote celebrated with a Play Reading at Red Bones Café

As part of the celebration of the 400th anniversary of the death of Spanish writer Miguel De Cervantes in 1616, the Embassy of Spain in Jamaica, in partnership with the Spanish-Jamaican Foundation and the Edna Manley School of Drama presented a dramatic play reading at Redbones in September 2016.

The event, entitled Cervantes Celebration, highlighted the life and work of Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra, one of the most significant figures in Spanish and World literature was born September 29, 1547 and died April 22, 1616.

The launch was held at the Bahia Principe Jamaica Resort in Runaway Bay under the distinguished patronage of Carmen Rives, charge d’ affaires at the Spanish Embassy in Jamaica who expounded on the importance of wine to the Spanish, and welcomed this new business partnership between Jamaican and Spanish investors.
